Polio sufferers are divided into three groups,
namely polio non-paralysis, paralysis polio,
post-polio syndrome.

Non-paralysis polio
Non-paralysis polio is
type of polio which does not cause paralysis.

Symptoms are mild.
The following are symptoms of non-paralysis polio
which generally lasts from one to ten days.

Paralysis polio

Paralysis polio can be divided according to
infected body parts, such as the brain stem,
spinal cord, or both.

The initial symptoms of paralysis polio are
often the same as non-paralysis polio,
such as headaches and fever.

Symptoms of paralysis polio usually occur
within a week,
including serious muscle aches or weakness,
legs and arms feeling drooping or weak, and
loss of body reflexes.

Some paralysis polio sufferers can experience
paralysis very quickly or even within hours
after infection and sometimes paralysis only
occurs on one side of the body.

The respiratory tract may be blocked or
not functioning, so it requires emergency
medical treatment.

Sindrom pasca-polio
Post-polio syndrome usually affects people who
have had an average of 30-40 years
before suffering from polio.

Symptoms that often occur include:
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
• Difficulty concentrating or remembering.
• Joints or muscles are getting weaker
  and more painful.
• Leg or wrist deformities.
• Depression or easily change mood.
• Sleep disturbances with difficulty breathing.
• Easily tired.
• Decreased body muscle mass (atrophy).
• Not strong enough to withstand
  cold temperatures.

The most common symptoms are fever,
head and back pain, constipation, and
becoming more sensitive.

The patient will feel loss of sensation and
paralyzed lower limbs.

Then the patient will improve gradually
over 2 - 6 months.
There may be signs and symptoms
not mentioned above.

If you have concerns about a particular symptom,
consult your doctor.

If you have the signs or symptoms above
or other questions, consult your doctor.

The body of each person is different.
